A warrant was ironically issued for former Warrant singer Jani Lane last week, after he failed to show up to two court appearances connected to his 2009 DUI conviction.
Lane was scheduled to appear in court on February 23 to show the judge he’s completed his alcohol classes and community service — but he never showed.
The court date was rescheduled for February 24 … but Lane missed that one too.
Lane’s lawyer says the singer has been in the hospital and won’t be able to make it to court until next week.
As for why he’s in the hospital … no word.

Since my last update, we have been back and forth to Houston three times for tests and chemo treatments, an emergency run to St. Joseph’s for another blood clot, an ultrasound and another cat scan. We met with Dr. Ajani, Ronnie’s oncologist, on Monday, and he was very pleased with the treatment so far. Some tumors have gone and some have shrunk. He says we have a long road to travel, but we are on the right path. Going back and forth to Houston is getting old, with all the cancelled and delayed flights and some of the rude Continental staff, the same boring food at the hotel (I think we have eaten everything on their horrible menu!), but…when we get a good report from the doctor, it is all worth it. The only food Ronnie says he can taste is Indian curry; everything tastes like metal (HEAVY metal?) because of the chemo. We did, however, have a nice breakfast with Carmen and his mother on Friday. He is still waiting for his bone marrow transplant.

WISN
MILWAUKEE — High-speed rail is one step closer to reality.
New federal money means Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison will soon be a short train trip away.
The secretary of Housing and Urban Development will be in Milwaukee Thursday afternoon, presumably to formally announce the plan.
WISN 12 News has learned nearly $830 million has been awarded to the state to make high-speed rail a reality by 2013.
A new line could connect Milwaukee and Madison, with stops in Brookfield, Oconomowoc and Watertown. The other phase is improvements to existing tracks from Milwaukee to Chicago.
The upgrades will eventually allow trains to increase their speed from about 80 miles per hour to 110 miles per hour.
Eventually, the hope is to add Minneapolis to the line.
The rail is possible because Wisconsin was awarded a chunk of federal stimulus dollars designated for high speed rail projects.
Both Wisconsin senators have expressed their support.
Sen. Herb Kohl said, “I’m especially pleased by the promise it holds to create jobs and provide transportation choices for travelers.”
Sen. Russ Feingold calls this “an important investment in Wisconsin’s economy and workforce.”
According to the state, the project will create thousands of jobs.
